In November of 2004, Mrs. Montgomery joined the ACHRI team as the Research Account Administrator. Her primary responsibilities include the overall management of the electronic systems (eRequest and PI Reporting) used by ACHRI’s investigators and staff for financial grant management and post-award administration. Mrs. Montgomery is the liaison for ACHRI to Systems Development Group and ACH Accounting for grant systems and processes. Since her arrival at ACHRI, Mrs. Montgomery has implemented the 90-day account review meetings where she along with ACH and UAMS personnel meet with investigators and business managers to review project accounts and address financial and administrative questions and concerns. In addition to these duties, Mrs. Montgomery assists with the ACHRI administrative budgets and reporting requirements for the Arkansas BioSciences Institute.
Mrs. Montgomery is Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Research Administrator. She earned a bachelors degree in accounting from UALR. Prior to accepting the position at ACHRI, she was involved in public accounting for five years. She provided assistance, including corporate tax services, to small businesses. Her professional experience also includes responsibility as the purchasing manager for a vending firm. Ms. Montgomery is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Society of Research Administrators, and the National Council of University Research Administrators.
