Research Overview
Prior to joining ACHRI in July of 2008, Dr. Romero was the Section Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. His research interests include the molecular pathogenesis, molecular diagnostics, molecular epidemiology and therapy of enteroviral infections; the diagnosis, prevention and therapy of respiratory syncytial virus infections; and vaccine clinical trials. At ACHRI, Dr. Romero is currently conducting several vaccine trials for prevention of meningococcal and respiratory syncytial virus infections. As Director of Clinical Trials Research at ACHRI, Dr. Romero assists in the development of clinical trials policies, operating procedures, and new programs to facilitate and promote clinical trials on the ACHRI and ACH campuses.
