Dr. Nick is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), College of Medicine, and Professor of Biostatistics at the UAMS, College of Public Health. In 2009, he became the Director of the Biostatistics Program within the Department of Pediatrics, the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute, and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Nick received his doctorate degree in Biometrics from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He will chair the Section on Statistical Consulting for the American Statistical Association for a one-year term beginning in January 2010. He serves on the editorial board of the journal Pharmacogenetics and Genomics and is a permanent member of the National Institutes of Health Nutrition, Obesity and Diabetes Epidemiology (KNOD) Study Section. Dr. Nick’s research interest primarily includes collaborative research and the program he directs provides ongoing biostatistical support to ACH’s clinical and research colleagues. His areas of research expertise include the statistical analysis of pharmacogenetics and genomics data and the development of valid clinical prediction models in predicting outcomes in traumatic brain injured patients.
