WHAT IS THE ARKANSAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE (ACHRI) AND WHAT CAN THEY DO FOR ME?

Our mission is to improve children's health, development, and well being through high quality research.

Our vision is to become internationally recognized as a leader in pediatric biomedical research.

Our goals are aimed at establishing multidisciplinary, collaborative, and thematic research groups, each employing a variety of research interests, special research techniques, and equipment. We will attain these goals by:

  • Recruiting and retaining federally funded scientists conducting peer-reviewed basic, translational, and clinical research and who promote the vision and mission statement of ACHRI;
  • Identifying young or new investigators and fostering their research efforts;
  • Improving the utilization of existing research facilities and expanding when necessary;
  • Increasing the research endowment to further our mission statement

THE STAFF

A service-oriented philosophy was in mind when the administrative staff was reorganized in 1997 in order to meet the dynamic needs of the ACHRI’s research community.  The staff acts as facilitators to ease the administrative burden of sponsored research.  At the same time, the office provides an array of unique services, outside the general area of research administration, that have proven to be quite beneficial to the ACHRI researchers and the Institute as well. Located in the ACHRI building, the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute staff supports the ACHRI faculty throughout the grant process.
