PROPOSAL PREPARATION

Now that you have found the grant of your dreams, how do you write a fundable proposal?

Start Writing

If you need assistance with drafting and revising your research proposal, ACHRI has writing and editing support for you. Contact Phaedra Yount or John Gregan when you know your plan for developing your grant application will require support for writing and editing. They will compare your schedule and theirs and contact you. Making them a part of your application development plan early will help your schedule run smoother and help you submit a clearer research plan.

Find Help
Having a peer review your project is an important part of learning, and the method that many submissions will be judged. Find someone in your department who shares your interests and have them read your submission. Their constructive criticism could be the difference in being funded and not funded.

Obtain the Proper Forms

Obtain the proper application forms and the formatting specifications from the ACHRI website or the sponsoring agency. For internal routing purposes, you will need a Grant Proposal Submission Form which can be found on the ACHRI webpage.

IMPORTANT:
ACHRI must review your budget and draft proposal. The Pre-Award office must receive your completed Grant Proposal Submission Form, already routed through the required UAMS and ACHRI offices, at least 24 hours prior to your submission date to the agency.
