| Educational Requirements to Perform Human Subject Research on the ACH/ACHRI Campus | |||||||
In accordance with federal regulations and guidelines and institutional policies, education on the use of human subjects in research is mandatory at Arkansas Children's Hospital and Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute. All faculty, staff, students, and collaborating researchers who are involved in the use of human subjects in research are required to complete the Human Subjects Research Core Education Modules. |
Beginning September 4, 2007 the nationally-recognized and widely-used on-line training program called the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) is the required training for personnel conducting human research on the ACH/ACHRI campus. |
Who must complete the training? We require that all Key Research Personnel at ACH/ACHRI or affiliated sites complete the on-line CITI Human Subject Protections Training program. All IRB members are also required to complete this training. If you have already completed the previous on-line training, this training may remain valid until September of 2009. When your current UAMS training expires, you will be required to take the CITI training. If you have not yet completed any training, then you will be required to take the CITI training. |
