7.0 AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT

Typically a funding agency will notify ACHRI regarding its decision on a proposal. Occasionally, however, the Principal Investigator is contacted rather than ACHRI. Please remember that ACHRI office handles contract negotiations.

If you receive an award announcement or contract, send the original award document to the ACHRI pre-award office immediately. Many award agreements need to be negotiated due to budget adjustments proposed by the sponsor. All awards must be processed through the ACHRI Pre-Award office before an award acceptance and subsequent account is opened through that office.

Note: Although the practice is not encouraged, some awards can begin spending before the final award announcement. See the Post Award Section 9.4 Pre-Award Spending, for details.

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) – If the project involves animal subjects

Complete instructions on the IACUC process can be obtained by contacting Blake Harrison.
